Welcome to the Home of SassJoy Records.  Created in 1994 in Marietta, Ohio by Lee Paxton, SassJoy Records is still funky and groovin' out in the new twisted era of humankind.   The Home of SassJoy Records is wherever Lee is, and right now that is Pittsburgh, PA.  May good times be with you all, and may the ecstatic Joy of Sass and funky music envelope your soul in positive vibrations down through the ages.

Lee Paxton "Vultures" (2009) - a collection of songs written by other people.  Traditional Folk Classics as well as Modern Hits.

Lee Paxton "Funky Folk Songs 2009" - some new and old-fashioned grooves for ya.

Poopy Christmas album by Poopy Souls (December 2008) - have yourself a poopy little Christmas with Poopy Souls and his latest album, "Poopy Christmas", which is sure to tickle your fancy and your fanny.  Sit your stanky arse down, take a crap, and take a listen.

Lee Paxton and Poopy Souls (2008) - a match made in heck.  16 songs that will bust your britches and have you screamin' like a banshee.

Lee Paxton "Scandal Songs 2006" - some topical songs about 2006 events.

Lee Paxton "Skanky Life" (June 2006) - "It's A Skanky Life", Lee says, but we think you'll at least try to enjoy it while you can.  On this album Lee explores the interesting and often bizarre world of religion, from the good "soulful" parts to the down-right ugly portions.  Songs like "God Is Everywhere" give an almost transcendental vision of funky spiritual universalism, while songs like "Uptight White Christian Anthem" show the contrasting hostile views of your typical religious extremist.  In the song "The Lord Is A Shepherd", Lee exclaims, "The Lord is a Shepherd and you are legs of lamb fed to the lions in God's holy land".  "Love Is Love" is a song about a lesbian couple who are ostracized for their lifestyle, but find strength in each other.  Lee says, "I wrote that song because I'm sick of all the gay bashing in our often uptight pseudo 'moralistic' society that frequently seeks to control people through hate and fear, and the message here is that love is love, and there ain't no regimes or false ideologies that can stand in the way of something that is as real and true as the way a person can love another".  This album can make you laugh, think, and sing along with spiritual glee.  "This is kinda like church music for the new funky transcendental agnostic religion, haha, well, I guess we'll see about that".

Lee Paxton's "American Revolutionary" (early 2006) is a collection of live songs recorded in early 2006 on a digital voice recorder.  These are rough, unedited, lo-fi recordings of traditional folk songs as well as some new original songs.

Lee Paxton "Any Road" (July 2005)

The third album in the "Lee Pax Americana Trilogy" (2004-2005), and is perhaps the most comical of the three.  "This is really the album I've been wanting to do for awhile now, it seems a bit liberating", Lee says, "Each song sounds a bit different from the next one, and there's a lot of comedy mixed in with some serious topical songs.  It's weaved into one big story about different roads people travel in this life, and I really feel that these three albums embody what I feel America is, and what it is not but perhaps striving to be, the good, the bad, and everything in between."  If you want a fun, interesting, wild, and hilarious ride, this road can lead you on.

Lee Paxton "Work Clothes" (October 2004)

A mostly acoustic folk and blues album with a couple of jazzy songs sprinkled in for good measure.  "Work Clothes" features many new serious songs about the plight of working class people around the world, as well as some other original songs displaying Lee's usual brand of wit and humor.

Lee Paxton  "All Stripped Down"  (early 2004)

Lee's early 2004 release of original sass and good time pickin' and grinnin' acoustic music.  Sure to make you crack a smile, and lift your spirits.
