"Guantanamo Bay-ra" a parody song by Lee Paxton of "Guantanamera", which is a song that Pete Seeger adapted years ago from the poem written by Jose Marti. Towards the end of this song, there's a brief segue into a parody of the "Banana Boat Song" (Day-O), a traditional Jamaican Calypso folk song, whose best-known version was sung by Harry Belafonte. This parody song, however, is about the torture prisons ran by the US government, in particular the one still in use at Guantanamo Bay. No, this ain't Cozumel I hope you don't mind the foul smell Hear the tortured prisoners scream and yell They treat us just as bad as Fidel Here at Guantanamo Bay-ra, Guantanamo Bay-ya !
